Join us for pickup sand volleyball! This is a great way to play without the commitment of a league or just to get some extra playing time. It's a great atmosphere to meet new people or come with a friends when you don't have enough players for your own game. We offer three skill levels so you can play in evenly matched games.

Sign up by yourself or with friends. The Grab A Game host will check players in, form teams, and make sure everything is organized and fun. All you have to do is show up ready to play!

Payment is required to register. However, should you need to cancel, you may contact us no less than 2 hours before the start of the event to let us know you can't make it. (email Lynn@chicagosocial.com) We'll remove your registration and apply your payment as a credit to your account to use for another event or towards a DSSC league. No-shows and cancelations made within 2 hours of the start time will not receive a credit. No refunds.

What to Wear
We are playing outdoors in sand. Most players play barefoot, but sand sox are allowed. Dress for the weather. Athletic apparel recommended.

What to Expect
Show up early! The games will begin at the time listed for this event. Players can start checking in with the event host as early as 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. Please be mindful of the other groups playing and follow the guidelines provided to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We will provide the game ball and the court set-up. We often switch up the teams during the event. You should expect to play the whole time. Please be ready to start on time and stay until the end.

Level of Play
Be sure to check the level listed for the event you join. The host will have a conversation with attendees who may be a better fit with one of the other levels. We do our best to create even teams so that games are well-matched. There are no referees, so players need to play with sportsmanship and make their own calls. We aim to make everyone feel welcome at these events.

Facility Information
Sandbar has multiple sand volleyball courts. When you arrive, please head to the center area near the courts. You'll see signage on where to stand while we check players in and wait to go onto our court. Sandbar has plenty of free parking and offers food and drink for purchase. Enjoy a drink with your new friends after the pickup game!

Minimum Number of Players and Playing Formats
This event needs a minimum of 4 people (not including the host) signed up before the start of the event in order to run. While highly unlikely, we will play with a minimum of 2 players per team. An email notification will be sent 2 hours in advance if we need to cancel. Credits will be issued if we cancel the event. Sign up early to encourage more people to sign up!!

Requirement to play
This is an adult volleyball group and because alcohol is served at this facility, you must be 21 older. Males and females are welcome to play. There is no required gender ratio.

What's included in the price?
Your payment helps to cover the rental costs, the hourly pay for your event host, and ensures a well-organized event.

Regarding COVID-19:

1. Do not sign up or attend this event if you have any symptoms of being sick or have been exposed to someone with COVID 19 within the past 14 days from the date of the event.

2. Wear a face mask inside the facility other than when you are actively playing, this includes during check-in with the host, and when in groups when a 6-foot distance cannot be maintained. When the event begins, you can remove your mask.

3. Hand sanitizer will be available.

4. We will wipe down our equipment between events.

5. If you live with or will be in close contact with at-risk persons, please consider them when deciding to sign up for this game.

6. We understand people have different comfort levels as we re-enter social situations during this time. Please be respectful of other participants sensitivities to touching, closeness, and mask-wearing. Do not shame anyone for their opinion on the matter. We want everyone to feel safe and we are all in this together. Should there be an issue that needs to be addressed, please talk with the host.
